About Us

092 Eagles Gymnastics Club was founded in May 2011 by Rod Davis and Jody McCarthy. We started as a very small club coaching general gymnastics using the equipment in a local primary school.  Our first session was held on 6th June 2011.

Very soon, we managed to build up some funds and began to start purchasing some equipment to use. In our early days we focused on general gymnastics and sports acro. Once we moved to St Michael’s Primary School in Kings Lynn our numbers started to grow.

The addition of Cindy to our coaching team in 2012 enabled us to focus our coaching on artistic gymnastics and our numbers have continued to flourish. We are currently the only artistic gymnastics club in King’s Lynn and have gymnasts from all over the town. We became so popular that in 2014 we started a second weekly session for our more advanced gymnasts on Saturdays.

We ran our first residential gymnastics camp in the summer of 2014 at Loughborough university and everyone had a great time.

In 2016, Cindy left to grow her own club, Titans, with which we still have strong links. In June 2016, Tieghan (one of our founding members) became our first regional GG champion … taking gold on floor.  In July 2016 we held our first club Awards Evening and Ami became our first ‘Golden Eagle’.

In June 2017, after about 2 years searching for the right property, Rod picked up the keys to the club’s own premises and we moved to our current location on Hamlin Way. Our first session in our new premises took place on 4th July 2017.

It very soon became clear that we would be inundated with new gymnasts and Rod gave up his teaching job to be able to run the club full time from September 2017. He was then joined by Sam in June 2018.

Having our own facility greatly helped the gymnasts, especially the artistic squad, and in 2018 Eagles had our first artistic regional finalist with Beatrice earning her space at regionals at grade 5.  She finished in 4th place at regionals against tough competition.

2019 saw Eagles grow significantly and also saw us have great success at competitions.
